SHAREing & CAREing to Celebrate 32 Years of Service to the Cancer Community

Astoria, NY — SHAREing & CAREing, a Queens-based cancer support group, will host its 32nd Annual Benefit & Silent Auction on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Leonard’s Palazzo in Great Neck, NY. This unforgettable evening will feature dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and an awards ceremony honoring four outstanding community leaders whose professional and personal endeavors have supported SHAREing & CAREing’s mission to provide services, comfort, and hope to those diagnosed and living with cancer.

Among those being honored are Yanna Darilis (TV Presenter, Producer-Director & Journalist, WABC Radio), Dennis Karagounis and Dennis Tiscolas (York Electrical Contractors), and Salvatore Galati (Phoenix Management 23, LLC). TGI Office Automation will also be honored, as will Connie Arroyo (presented posthumously), recipient of this year’s Gloria D’Amico Lifetime Achievement Award.

Joseph Pistilli, Founder and CEO of Phoenix Management 23, LLC and Chairman of the Board of First Central Savings Bank, will serve once again as Master of Ceremonies. Mr. Pistilli, who has served as SHAREing & CAREing’s President’s Counsel for more than two decades, has been instrumental in raising significant private funds to sustain the organization’s free cancer support services.

Tickets, starting at $250, and sponsorships, starting at $3000, are now available for purchase online at https://shareing-careing.org/event/2026-annual-benefit-silent-auction. All sponsors will receive recognition across event materials, social media, SHAREing & CAREing’s website, and the benefit’s Step & Repeat banner.

All proceeds from the event will support SHAREing & CAREing’s free bilingual cancer support services, survivorship programs, early detection initiatives, and health education outreach, annually serving over 3000 individuals throughout Queens and New York City. “This event is not only a celebration, but a reminder of the strength and generosity of our Queens community,” said Anna Kril, Founder & President of SHAREing & CAREing. “Together, we are making sure that no one faces cancer alone.”

About SHAREing & CAREing

SHAREing & CAREing was founded in 1994 by four breast cancer survivors—Mary Demakos, the late Lucille Hartmann, Carol Scarano, and Anna Kril—in response to the lack of breast cancer services in Queens County and to improve the lives of those living with cancer. It is a one-stop, grassroots, community-based organization that provides free bilingual supportive services to cancer survivors and their families, as well as cancer awareness and health and wellness education to the broader community, annually serving over 3000 individuals. Its mission is to provide services, comfort, and hope to those diagnosed and living with cancer, reduce fear, and eliminate cultural and financial barriers to care.
