SHAREing & CAREing to Celebrate 31 Years of Service to the Cancer Community

Astoria, NY,  September 30 — SHAREing & CAREing, a Queens-based cancer support non-profit, will host its 31st Annual Benefit & Silent Auction on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Russo’s On The Bay in Howard Beach, NY. This unforgettable evening will feature dinner, dancing, a silent auction and an awards ceremony honoring four outstanding community leaders whose professional and personal endeavors have supported SHAREing & CAREing’s mission to provide services, comfort and hope to those diagnosed and living with cancer.

Among those being honored are Leonard T. D’Amico, Co-CEO of The D&F Development Group, LLC, Thomas J. Grech, president and CEO of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, Michael Torres, Executive Vice President of Parkchester Preservation Management and David B. Sargoy, Managing Broker at Brown Harris Stevens.

Serving as Master of Ceremonies will be Joseph Pistilli, Founder and CEO of Phoenix Management 23 LLC, a Pistilli Realty Company and Chairman of the Board of First Central Savings Bank. Mr. Pistilli, who has served as SHAREing & CAREing’s President’s Counsel for more than two decades, has been instrumental in raising significant private funds to sustain the organization’s free cancer support services.

Tickets, starting at $250, and sponsorships, starting at $3000, are now available for purchase online at https://shareing-careing.org/event/2025-annual-benefit-silent-auction/.  All sponsors receive recognition across event materials, social media, the website, and the Step & Repeat banner.

All proceeds from the Benefit will support SHAREing & CAREing’s free bilingual cancer support services, survivorship programs, early detection initiatives, and health education outreach, annually serving 4000 individuals throughout Queens and New York City.

“This event is not only a celebration, but a reminder of the strength and generosity of our Queens community,” said Anna Kril, Founder & President of SHAREing & CAREing. “Together, we are making sure that no one faces cancer alone.”

About SHAREing & CAREing

SHAREing & CAREing  was founded in 1994 by four Breast Cancer survivors – Mary Demakos, the late Lucille Hartmann, Carol Scarano and Anna Kril – in response to the lack of breast cancer services in Queens County and to improve the lives of those living with cancer. It is a one-stop, grassroots, community-based organization which provides FREE bilingual supportive services to cancer survivors and their families as well as cancer awareness and health & wellness education to the broader community, annually serving about 4000 individuals.  Its mission is to provide services, comfort, and hope to those diagnosed and living with cancer, reduce fear, and eliminate cultural and financial barriers to care.
