Celebrating Three Kings Day with the Queens Community

On January 4, 2025, SHAREing & CAREing proudly participated in a vibrant Three Kings Day celebration hosted at Pan American International High School in Elmhurst. This cherished cultural event, organized by Asian Americans for Equality and supported by Assembly Member Catalina Cruz, brought the Queens community together to celebrate tradition, provide resources, and share joy with families.

Three Kings Day, also known as El Día de los Reyes, is a significant holiday celebrated across many Spanish-speaking countries. The event honors the arrival of the three wise men who brought gifts to baby Jesus, symbolizing generosity and community. It’s a time for families to gather, exchange gifts, and share festive food and traditions.

At the event, SHAREing & CAREing hosted an outreach table, connecting with attendees and sharing information about our free cancer support services. Our volunteers and staff provided resources, answered questions, and demonstrated our commitment to uplifting and empowering the Queens community.

Families who attended enjoyed live music, delicious churros and champurrado, and special gift distributions for children aged 4 through 10. The joy and camaraderie were palpable as attendees came together to honor the spirit of giving and support that defines Three Kings Day.

We are grateful to Asian Americans for Equality, Assembly Member Catalina Cruz, and the partnering organizations, including Commonpoint Queens, Communities Resist, Emerald Isle, JH Immigration Center, La Victoria Foundation, CRECE Family Enrichment Center, MOIA, NYC Commission on Human Rights, NYIC, NYLAG, Queens Public Library, Renaissance, and Unlock, for organizing such a meaningful event. Community gatherings like these highlight the strength and unity of Queens, and we’re honored to contribute to their success.

Are you interested in making a difference in your community? You can volunteer your time, schedule a Be A Friend To Your Mother presentation for a local school, or reach out to us about hosting a health outreach table at your event or venue.
