This program, led by Program Manager Merryl Reichbach, LCSW and Fran Smith, RN will provide key information that we need to know about protecting our health from cancer and other illnesses. The workshop includes important facts and statistics about cancer, including who should be screened and when as well as how to do a self-exam. We will also focus on strengthening our communication skills to encourage those we love who are at risk to pursue relevant health care. Participants will have the chance to experience and practice simple meditation and stress management techniques, and will receive recipes and nutritional guidelines. This workshop will be highly interactive and participants will have a chance to ask licensed health professionals important health questions in an open and encouraging environment. Participants will receive handouts and information about where to follow up and receive free and low-cost health services including appropriate cancer screenings. Free and open to the public.
