ExpiredBreast Cancer. Education. Action. Treatment (BEAT) Program

In 1994, SHAREing & CAREing initiated its signature B.E.A.T. Breast Cancer Initiative – Breast Cancer. Education. Action. Treatment. This monthly program connects underserved and underinsured women with free and low-cost mammograms. Our bilingual, long-term survivors are onsite to assist women with their screenings which are conducted by a breast specialist physician. Our goal is to mobilize women to seek mammography screening by removing the barriers created by fear and lack of understanding. Through education and outreach we link uninsured or underinsured women who are 40+ years old to free or low-cost mammography. SHAREing & CAREing provides patient navigation from diagnosis throughout treatment. Patient navigation services are available in English and Spanish. These services are available through Mount Sinai Hospital Queens, however arrangements can be made throughout New York City.
