ExpiredBreast Cancer. Education. Action. Treatment (BEAT) Program

This program helps connect underserved and underinsured women qualifying for free and low cost mammograms.

In 1994, SHAREing & CAREing initiated its signature B.E.A.T. Breast Cancer Initiative – Breast Cancer. Education. Action. Treatment. Our goal is to mobilize women to seek mammography screening by removing the barriers created by fear and lack of understanding. Through education and outreach we link uninsured or under-insured women who are 40 years old + to free or low cost mammography. SHAREing & CAREing’s long-term survivors act as patient navigators for women who require surgery and treatment to ensure follow-up with their doctor’s recommendations. Survivors are bilingual and have personally been through a similar protocol of treatment. These services are available through Mount Sinai Hospital Queens, however arrangements can be made throughout New York City.
